Ewa Hapek

The inspiration for my work is nature. I use her richness of colors and forms as a metaphor to show my experiences, relationships, ties and processes taking place in my environment.

In painting I am looking for a compromise between realistic painting, abstract pa and surrealism.

Education and technology:

I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in the field of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art.

Working with gothic and baroque painting inspired me to use old painting techniques in my own art. I use hand-rubbed paints and primers on hand-made wooden panel and canvas.

However, my great passion is paper and watercolor. I appreciate this technique for its unpredictability and characteristic lightness.
